KEMPSHOT OLD STUDENT ASSOCIATION (KOSA) CHARTER PREAMBLE Kempshot School recognizes the importance of fostering a strong relationship between the school and its alumni. This charter establishes the framework for the formation of Kempshot Old Student Association (KOSA), outlining its purpose, structure, and governance. ARTICLE I: NAME AND PURPOSE 1. Name: The name of the association shall be Kempshot Old Student Association (KOSA), with the members been refered to as KOSARIAN 2. Purpose: KOSA aims to: - Foster connections among alumni, current students, and the school. - Support the school through volunteerism, mentorship, and resource mobilization. - Promote the school's interests through advocacy and community engagement. - Support KOSA members 3. Symbols and Emblems Symbol: Emblem: Pledge: "We, the members of Kempshot Old Student Association, "I pledge to uphold the values of Kempshot Old Students Association, To stand as a beacon of excellence, in all that I do. I vow to cherish the bonds of friendship, forged in our alma mater's halls, And to strive for the betterment, of our community and all. As a Kosarian, I promise to hold high, the torch of our noble heritage, And to shine as a shining example, of the best that Kempshot has to offer." Anthem: "The official anthem of Kempshot Old Student Assocition shall be... Slogan: "The slogan of [Association Name] shall be..." One Kosarian, One Family, One Legacy ARTICLE II: MEMBERSHIP 1. Eligibility: - Membership is open to all past students of Kempshot School. 2. Categories: - Full Member: Past students who have attended Kempshot School. - Associate Member: Individuals who have contributed significantly to Kempshot School or KOSA. 3. Batch Groupings: To foster connections and facilitate mentorship, KOSA members shall be grouped into the following categories based on their graduation year: 1. Pioneers (2004-2008) This group includes the first few batches that paved the way for KOSA. They likely have significant life experience and can offer valuable mentorship. 2. Foundational Years (2009-2013) This group built upon the foundation laid by the pioneers. They may have establishe careers and are likely taking on leadership roles. 3. Growth Phase (2014-2018) This group is likely in their mid-to-late careers, with a strong foundation in their respective fields. They may be taking on more significant responsibilities and mentoring younger batches. 4. New Generation (2019-2023 and later) This group is likely in the early stages of their careers, with a strong focus onbuilding their professional networks and gaining experience. These groupings shall be used to facilitate networking, mentorship, and community-building activities within KOSA. ARTICLE III: GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE 1. Executive Committee: Comprising elected representatives from the alumni body. - President - Vice President - Secretary - Treasurer - Public Relations Officer 2. School Representation: The school may appoint a liaison to facilitate communication. ARTICLE IV: RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES 1. Alumni Engagement: Organize events, reunions, and networking opportunities. 2. Support to the School: Provide mentorship, volunteerism, and resource mobilization. 3. Advocacy: Promote the school's interests and reputation. ARTICLE V: DEPARTMENTS AND CHAPTERS 1. Departments: KOSA shall comprise chapters for each department: - Basic School - Senior High School - T-VET and Professional - Remedial and Vacation School 2. Chapters: Chapters may be formed based on geographical location or other criteria. ARTICLE VI: ELECTIONS AND APPOINTMENTS 1. Executive Committee Elections: Held annually or biennially. 2. School Liaison Appointment: Appointed by the school authorities. ARTICLE VII: MEETINGS AND EVENTS 1. Annual General Meeting (AGM): KOSA shall hold an AGM annually. 2. Departmental Meetings: Each departmental chapter shall hold regular meetings. ARTICLE VIII: FINANCE AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT 1. Sources of Funds: Membership fees, donations, and fundraising events. 2. Financial Management: The Treasurer shall manage KOSA's finances. ARTICLE IX: COMMUNICATION AND PUBLICITY 1. Official Communication Channels: KOSA shall maintain official communication channels. 2. Publicity: KOSA shall promote its activities and achievements. ARTICLE X: AMENDMENTS AND REVIEW 1. Amendments: This charter may be amended through a collaborative process. 2. Review: The charter shall be reviewed periodically. ARTICLE XI: RATIFICATION AND IMPLEMENTATION This charter shall be ratified by the school authorities and KOSA's Executive Committee. Upon ratification, it shall take effec t and guide the operations of KOSA.
