Kempshot Sports Academy Friendly Games Policy and Procedure
Purpose:
The purpose of this policy and procedure guideline is to establish clear guidelines and protocols for organizing and participating in friendly games within the football academy. These guidelines aim to ensure the safety, fairness, and positive experience of all players involved, while also promoting the development of skills and sportsmanship.
Scope:
This policy applies to all friendly matches organized by Kempshot Sports Academy, including matches against local teams, touring teams, and other academies.
Objectives:
1. Player Development: Provide opportunities for players to develop their skills and gain match experience.
2. Team Building: Foster team spirit and camaraderie through friendly competition.
3. Sportsmanship: Promote fair play, respect, and good sportsmanship among players, coaches, and officials.
Number of Friendly Matches:
- (U-11): 1-2 friendly matches per month, focusing on development and fun.
- (U-13 to U-15): 2-4 friendly matches per month, balancing development with competition.
- (U16 to U-17): 3-6 friendly matches per month, preparing for competitive seasons.
When planning friendly matches, consider:
- Player development: Use friendlies to test strategies, work on skills, and build team cohesion.
- Competition level: Schedule matches against teams of similar skill levels to promote fair competition and learning.
- Player safety: Ensure proper warm-ups, cool-downs, and safety protocols are in place.
- Coaching objectives: Align friendly matches with coaching goals, such as working on specific tactics or player development.
Procedures:
1. Requesting a Friendly Match: Requests for friendly matches will be submitted to the academy management team for approval. a. The Request letter must be Kempshot Template Formatb. The Team selection must adhere to our selection policy
2. Scheduling and Confirmation: Once approved, the match will be scheduled and confirmed with the opposing team.
3. Match Day Procedures: The hosting team will provide necessary facilities, equipment, and personnel for the match.
4. Player Safety: Players will be required to wear approved protective gear and follow safety guidelines.
Responsibilities:
1. Academy Management: Responsible for approving friendly match requests, ensuring compliance with academy policies, and overseeing match day operations.
2. Coaching Staff: Responsible for team management, player selection, and ensuring player safety.
3. Players: Responsible for adhering to academy policies, rules, and regulations, and demonstrating good
sportsmanship.
1. Scheduling and Planning:
1.1. Scheduling: The scheduling of friendly games should be done by the coaching staff in consultation with the academy management. Games should be planned well in advance to allow for adequate preparation and organization.
1.2. Opponent Selection:
Opponents for friendly games should be chosen based on factors such as the skill level of the teams, geographical proximity, and availability. The coaching staff should ensure that opponents are suitable for the developmental level of the academy players.
1.3. Venue Selection:
The venue for friendly games should be selected based on factors such as availability, suitability for football matches, and convenience for both teams. Whenever possible, neutral venues should be chosen to ensure fairness.
1.4. Communication:
Clear communication should be maintained with the opposing team regarding game logistics, including date, time, venue, and any specific requirements. Any changes to the schedule should be communicated promptly to all parties involved.
2. Player Participation: 2.1. Selection:
Player selection for friendly games should be based on factors such as performance in training, fitness levels, and adherence to academy policies and guidelines. All players should be given fair opportunities for participation.
2.2. Age, Height, and Weight Verification:
Prior to participating in friendly games, players' ages, heights, and weights should be verified to ensure they meet the requirements for their respective divisions. Players found to be ineligible due to age, height, or weight discrepancies should not be allowed to participate.
2.3. The average height and weight of players in football can vary depending on various factors such as genetics, nutrition, and physical development. However, here are some general guidelines for the average height and weight of players in the Under 11, Under 13, and Under 16 age groups:
1. Under 11 (U11):
- Average Height: Around 4 feet 6 inches to 4 feet 10 inches (137 cm to 147 cm).
- Average Weight: Around 60 to 80 pounds (27 kg to 36 kg).
2. Under 13 (U13):
- Average Height: Around 4 feet 10 inches to 5 feet 4 inches (147 cm to 162 cm).
- Average Weight: Around 80 to 110 pounds (36 kg to 50 kg).
3. Under 16 (U16):
- Average Height: Around 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 10 inches (162 cm to 178 cm).
- Average Weight: Around 110 to 140 pounds (50 kg to 64 kg).
2.4. Divisional Integrity: Players should only participate in friendly games for their designated division (e.g., Under 11, Under 13, and Under 16). Mixing players from different divisions or age groups is strictly prohibited to maintain fairness and safety.
3. Game Conduct:
3.1. Sportsmanship: Players, coaches, and staff are expected to conduct themselves with respect and sportsmanship at all times during friendly games. Unsportsmanlike behaviour, including but not limited to foul language, aggressive play, and disrespect towards opponents or officials, will not be tolerated.
3.2. Fair Play: All games should be played according to the rules and spirit of football. Any attempts to gain an unfair advantage, such as diving, simulation, or deliberate fouls, are strictly prohibited.
3.3. Opponent Verification: The coaching staff should verify the identities of players from the opposing team to ensure they are legitimately registered for their respective divisions. Any suspicion of fake identities or ineligible players should be reported to the appropriate authorities.
4. Post-Game Procedures:
4.1. Feedback and Analysis: Following each friendly game, the coaching staff should provide constructive feedback to the players regarding their performance. This may include strengths, areas for improvement, and tactical analysis.
4.2. Injury Reporting: Any injuries sustained during the game should be promptly reported to the coaching staff and documented for further assessment and treatment. Players should receive appropriate medical attention as needed.
